Thanks to the existence of numerous Arena Football teams, several arena football league players have now become famous. The arena football requires a team of 8 players on the field at one time. The total number of players of each team on the roster can go up to 20 but only 8 needs to be on the arena. Before the year of 2007, players were allowed to play both the defense and the offence, barring the kicker and Quarterback. Besides the kickers and specialists, one player has the right to go in the game once every quarter. The players who begin the quarter were substituted so that they can re-enter the game. Once when the substitute enters the field and leaves, he cannot enter the game again. The player is regarded as “dead” and from the time he departs the field, he is not allowed to come back till the deputed time gets sufficed. In case of a specialist player, the dead time extends to one half in case of 2 way players, the dead time extends for a quarter of a game.
