Arena Football League was found in 1987 as an indoor league of American football. The league introduced season attributed four special teams such as Denver Dynamite, Chicago Bruisers, Pittsburgh, Washington Commandos and Gladiators. The teams had played a six season game terminating in Arena Bowl I, at the place where Denver was overwhelmed Pittsburgh at their home town. In the year 1990, Foster was rewarded with a patent in arena football. It was a unique case when a sport was being patented anywhere in the world. This meant that the other indoor leagues had to be played with rules different from that patented. However, the patent is getting terminated in September 2007.

At the current 18 seasons, the Arena Football League is considered as second greatest organization football league in the United States history and it is one of the America’s highest growing sports. The growth of the Arena football league stared taking place after the games were televised. It attracted huge fans in and around the world. Jim Foster, executive of the Arena football league primarily had an agreement with NBC television channel in 1983 to broadcast the games worldwide. Through broadcasting of such games on the media, it earned a huge amount of revenue from the entertainment industry. The primary concern of the Arena football league is to increase the attraction of the fans towards the game and make the game friendlier amongst the people. The AFL has confined the thoughts of many people and features an impressive number of people watching every game in the year 2007.
