Arena Football is basically a type of football sport which emerged in the year 1981. It was found by Jim Foster who a former chief executive of the US football League and National Football League. In the year 1981, Jim Foster was attending an indoor soccer game at Madison Square garden when he got an idea of introducing a new concept of the game of football in the sports field. This idea led to the invention of the Arena football game. He devised the rules and procedures of the game. After a certain period of time, he accomplished test games and experimented on the modification in the rules of play for a period of around five years. In the year 1987, he introduced a new league into the sports industry and named it “Arena Football League”. There was a small minor league called Arenafootball2 (af2) inaugurated and played their first and initial game in the year 2000. Subsequent to its invention, arena football has grown to become one of the most popular games in such a short span of its birth.
Focus of Arena Football:
Arena football is a basically an indoor game and is only played indoors. The rules and regulations were similar as compared to NFL. The width of the field is 85 feet which is equivalent to that of a standard hockey rink of the National Hockey League. The length of the field is around 50 yards with an eight yard finish region. In the year 1983, Jim Foster received an agreement from the TV network of NBC to work on presentation game for this private channel. He utilized this opportunity to telecast the game throughout the world.
