The rules of Arena Football game is more or less like the American Football. There are minor differences between Arena Football rules and NFL (National Football League) rules. The differences in the rules of both the games were configured to allow the arena game to be faster and a high scoring game. The field of the arena football is very similar to the ones used in ice hockey and basketball, since the game is played indoors. The width of field is 85 ft and length is 50 yards. Players: The rule with regards to the players states every team 8 players to be present on the field at one time, from a collection of 20 active members. Prior to the year 2007, the players were allowed to play defense and offense both, barring the kicker, quarterback, 2 defense specialists and one offensive specialist.
Formation: The rules with respect to the formation of team go like this, 4 offensive players placed on scrimmage line at snap. 1 offensive player moving ahead near the beginning of snap, 2 defenders needs to serve as the linebackers referred as jack and Mac.
Scores: The Arena football rules with respect to scoring is similar to that of NFL, adding the field goal of drop kick meriting 4 points while normal play and 2 points in case of post-touchdown transition.
